I just thought I'd bust, until I got a pocket knife. I had to put in ten whole years, before my Grandfather told me I could keep that little three bladed, black handled, pen knife; that I kept pestering him to loan me.
Sunday afternoons, as a child; were hard labor, spent hand grinding sticks to a fine edge, on the flat of a concrete block.
My Bone and Tar tape knives of the early 60's, have been dropped from my catalog now; but there has been a rather serious "write in" effort to bring them back.
Currently; we list for immediate sale, those knives which have been recently completed. I achieved my Master Bladesmith's Ranking from The American Bladesmith's Society, in October 1983. Only my forged blades are marked with an MS in addition to my Cartouche (a hand engraved ornate B with a dagger thru it). I also bandsaw, grind, and heat treat excellent blades in my machine shop. I proudly certify these fine Barnes Knives, with my engraved Cartouche.
I design my knives. I make all of my knife parts (save any small machine screws). I heat treat all parts. I perform all artwork used on my knives. If it's carved, I carved it. If it's inlaid .... you understand.
I hope you enjoy seeing my work. I'd love to have you own one, if you'd enjoy that. I appreciate your time. Thanks for looking.

Introducing the Black Tie Model 97.
The frame is a soft brushed finish. The scales are polished linen black Micarta. Just a reminder - Micarta was WW2's Carbon Fiber. This 97 has a couple of extra features. Obviously, the polished blade. And also the machine screw mounted scales. Purpose there is that the scales "could" be changed out.
This knife is true formal ware, elegant and stylish, best carried when wearing a Tux to impress. Or if you are 007, out for a night on the town.
Size: Roughly 7" open
Blade: Stainless Tool Steel Blade - Differentially Heat Treated
Scales: Changeable Black Micarta.
Price: $795 plus $20 for the Postman (USPS PRIORITY MAIL)

This stunning knife is an Aurora Imperial Woven Mammoth. Each piece of the carefully laid up Wooly Mammoth Tusk Mosaic, has been chosen for a pleasing blend of color. The absolute minimum age of the Tusks, is 10,000 years. It's quite routine that Tusks of 30,000 years old are found. Some components here may well be. The color and patterns will be caused by age, minerals which were in the ground containing the Tusk, and climate conditions in the area where they were found. If you are not aware, the search for Mammoth Tusk is a totally legal part of the economy of indigenous peoples in areas such as Alaska and Siberia. They then sell to merchants and craftsmen. "Mammoth Tusk" certainly never fails to raise an eyebrow when discussing knife handles. Add instant Eons to your Heirlooms!
Size: Roughly 6" open
Blade: Stainless Tool Steel
Scales: Wooly Mammoth Tusk Mosaic.
Price: $849 plus $20 for the Postman (USPS PRIORITY MAIL)
